I am having another issue with one of my girls. I am desperate for help on this one. Lavern, (sick chicken) had an issue with a clogged crop. But, I was able to get that taken care of. Lavern is no longer able to stand on her own. She's eating very well and drinking lots of water...and pooping. But with her unable to stand or walk any more, her poo gets all over her backside.
Today I gave Lavern a nice warm bath. I wrapped her in a towel and took her into the sun, to help dry her. I placed her on a table and checked every inch of her. I stretched her wings, checked her back end, her legs and feet. Every thing looked fine. I also moved her legs this way and that and she didn't complain. Oh, also she hasn't laid any eggs for about 5 days. No eggs were stuck inside her either. I did notice she was shivering just a little.
Anyone have any ideas what this is? She's in a pen all by herself because I didn't want the other girls to pick on her.
