Poultry mum
Crowing
She’s not crowing yet either... so it’s still undecided lolThat is extremely rare. Unless you see Aubrey laying an egg then he’s a boy.

Other than having the Silkied gene and dark skin and possibly five toes what makes them a Silkie? Because the seller said so? I can say a muffed and bearded Easter Egger that lays blue eggs is an Ameraucana all day but if it doesn't meet the breed standard of perfection then it's not. The same applies to those birds. No Silkies have single combs. They should be walnut. Additionally they should be mulberry colored, not Drop Dead Barred Rock Red.
Audrey does look much healthier. You've done a good job.Update photos

I am... and although I have been advised against them I do think the day she starts crowing if she is indeed a he will be the day I actually use a Rooster collar... this bird means so much to me and I don’t think I could rehome her if she ever did start crowingAudrey does look much healthier. You've done a good job.
I have been following Audrey from the beginning and appreciate you continuing to update and post pictures until irrefutable evidence appears.
Sadly, I am in camp cockerel when it comes to Audrey's sex. For your sake, I hope you have a pullet, but think you should be prepared for bad news.
I don’t think my chicks are pure bred like I was told... one has blue ears one has mulberry ones bigger and fluffier ones small and seems to be getting Satan feathers... I haven’t even thought of counting the toes thanks for the tip.Aren't mulberry combs a fault in Silkies? Pretty sure they're supposed to be black. And they can have single combs. They can even be non crested. Such things are to be avoided, but they don't make them not Silkies. I have a non crested right now--Silkie feathered, five toes, blue ears, black skin, small tinted egg layer, booted, and so broody that she adopts any chick she sees...is she not a Silkie?

She does seem to have longer legs I have noticed that... but she’s also become very round and plump like my silver lace... it’s still very confusing... doesn’t help when she has one of my other chickens (who I do think is a boy) trying to “squish” her... I don’t know if it’s just domance or what... it makes it very confusingi know this is off-topic but... is it just me or does it look like Audrey has long legs?
Damn auto correct lol...![]()
I know it's a typo I just had a good laugh imagining the possibilities
