Need help identifying this breed

Sadly they sometimes permanently 'silence' the crowing.

What would be better? Permanent crowing silence or poor having to be become someone’s dinner?.... id prefer the silence crowing where my bird can live a happy life...

Sadly, what @sourland meat is they have been known to cause death hence “permanently silencing” the crowing. As long as you are very vigilant and keep a close I on him, hopefully that shouldn’t be an issue.

Yeah, you have to be able to watch them for a while when putting it on and adjusting it. You can't just put it on and walk away.

That said, one more thing I forgot--make sure to part the feathers and put the collar as close to the skin as possible, if necessary trim some of the feathers. This helps ensure that the collar won't move around and that you have a proper fit. If it slides up it won't do its job and you might tighten it too much trying to get it to work.

Food intake also needs to be monitored to assure that the rooster does not eat anything large enough to suffocate him.
