Need help? in Lehigh Acres, FL (unincorporated Lee County, Florida)

Thank you for your tips. I will petition our local Board of Commissioners for a change in the law.

Hi all;

I just joined the forum because of this post. I he emailed all of the commissioners in the area. I find it disheartening that the only one I have not heard from is our own Commissioner Drank Mann. I have sent him multiple emails but have heard nothing from him. does anyone know when his term is up?

Dianne and and Dianna keep up the good work. We need to keep this fight active as the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

private message or email me so we can get together on some stuff ok?

Yes! We need to keep the phone calls coming to the commissioners' offices! ALL of them! We need at least 3 out of 5 commisioners to get the ordinance changed!

Here are the names and phone numbers to the commissioners:

District 1 (which includes Cape Coral and the barrier islands): John Manning (239) 533-2224

District 2 (which includes mostly the city limits of Ft Myers): Brian Bigelow (239) 533-2227

District 3 (south of Corkscrew and Bonita Springs, and I believe San Carlos Park: Ray Judah (239) 533-2223

District 4 (which includes N. Fort Myers up to the Charlotte Co. line): Tammy Hall (239) 533-2226

District 5 (Lehigh, East FM, East of I-75 and North of Corkscrew): Frank Mann (239) 533-2225

Please find a way to sign the petition AND call, call, call!!!

Right now, we have 3 locations to sign the petition...in Ft Myers at Futrals Feed Store on Palm Beach Blvd
in Lehigh at Joe's Cafe on Homestead Rd.
and a private resident in San Carlos Park (if you need to sign here, contact me and we'll get it to you somehow)
Right now, the commissioners are in recess. The next board meeting is not scheduled until Aug 2nd...We are hoping to get this on the agenda by then. But the fight is far from over!!! We need to bombard them and raise more community awareness for the next month!!!

I cannot do it alone...one voice may be strong...but many voices are much stronger!!!

Thanks and God Bless
Dianna

Dianna,

Thanks for posting thee numbers. I will call them all on Monday. I am only in Manning's District but it can't hurt to have my voice heard by all of them. Also, I am not sure how much good it does to deal with the Lee county Commissioner who oversees Cape Coral, as Cape Coral has its own commission and board who tend do make their own rules, so I have to deal with all them, too. Do you happen to have email addresses for all of them as I am thinking of following up with am email, too.

Whenever calling or emailing, I encourage everyone to remain positive and respectful. You catch more bees with syrup...

Lee
County residents, please take a minute to complete and share this survey to let the local government know how we feel about personal and local sustainability practices (such as backyard flocks). Perhaps you'd like to let them know how being free to practice PERSONAL sustainability (harvesting rainwater, growing your own food, raising your own hens, etc.) would help create an entire COMMUNITY that is sustainable.

Wanted to wish you folks the best of luck in your fight. We moved from Port Charlotte 4 years ago, finally hit our limit living in a deed restricted area where 80 year old Neighborhood Watch ladies would measure our grass with a ruler. Hope you guys win.
