1cc per 10 pounds of body weight, three days straight but mixing it with water daily 3cc per gallon of water works well for me here and i don't mess up the trust my birds and i have, i can look but i am not suppose to touch but they can touch me, silly peas.I'm sure it's here in this thread somewhere- but what is the oral dose of safeguard for peas or turkeys? Chickens?
Frenchy your getting closer LMAO!Yoda,,Bigcreeks post above,,,I don't think I was so far out in left field afterall,,,,,eprinomectin vs.evirmectrin,,,,,,please rebut.
Thanks! I actually have a smaller spalding bronze male that is the one that can kick my butt.Eprinex is eprinomectin. Similar to ivermectin. Same class of wormer. It does great for buffalo gnats and that is the main reason why we tried it in the beginning. The gnats were so thick and just stripping all the feathers of the peas head and neck. I use .25 mL under each wing for a total of .5mL (1/2 mL).
It is not effective against capillary worms and I would not use it to control cecal worms either.
Yoda, Ivermectin can be added to the water, but it is oily and floats to the top. You can stir it several times a day and it will work if you do that.
And a no no for ducks since they drink huge amounts of water. My vet says he has seen ducks that have OD on ivomec in the water.
Safeguard, valbazen, levamisole all 3 kill capillary and cecal worms. The two most deadly to peafowl. Cecal worms are not as lethal by themselves as capillary. But they can carry blackhead and that is definitely bad news.
I agree that you must love your peas to do the catch method regular. When we are done I feel like I've been in a fight, and lost. The java's are the ones who are a pain. So much stronger and wow do they put up a fight.
