need help now! graphic!

Try vitamin E for reduced scarring. I hear that vitamin E is really good for skin injuries. Also, A&D ointment, I used it on my son when he was 3 months old and had a really bad diaper rash. A good way to get neosporin on without rubbing it in is to warm it up to body temperature. It becomes really runny when warmed up. DONT use a microwave or any other artificial device. Warm water works as long as its body temperature. Use a non latex rubber glove or something smooth and plastic that is non abrasive or will leave foreign matter in the wound. Ive used this method on kitten that have been attacked by raccoons.

Thanks for all the advise she is doing great. It is drying and scanning around the edge but the problem is that she is kinda flighty and sometimes she reaches her neck up really high causing it to bleed again...

Just try and keep it moist...that will help with the bleeding. I'm so glad she is doing so well!!!

She semmed bored of her plain old chicken food now that she can't forage so I cooked her a gorme meal! Extra cheesy scrambled eggs and bread! Yay lol she loved it until my dog stole it!;)

Awww! We have a hen named Molly that got a 5 inch gash in her from a predator. We sprayed it 2 or 3 times a day with Blu-Kote and fed her vitamins in her water. She is now back with the flock, but has never stopped running towards me when I clap my hands. I love her. I hope your girl pulls through! Just give her lots of love and let her walk around outdoors for about 20 minutes or more each day if possible when it is scabbed over and she is feeling better. (supervised of course!) This will give her exercise and something to do.

So considering she is a single chicken in my house how can I keep her from getting lonely? It is scabbed over but I can't put her outside with chickens! They will peck at it and there are too many opportunities for bacteria getting in it. I try to interact with her lots but I do go to school and am not home all the time. When I am gone I do have dogs and cats that probobly entertain her a bit ( she's not scared) but what else can I do? This whole experience has formed a bondbetween us. When I get her out she snuggled up to me and cheeps quietly and purrs. When I try to put her away she flaps her wings and screams jumping back onto my lap and laying down. She keeps spilling her water and I think she does it to get attention because when I clean her cage I pet her.

I am so sorry.Keep her in a quiet room.Keep the wound clean. Is there anyway, you can try to bandage it up.Do not put her outdoors,as the flys will lay eggs on it.I hope she pulls through.
