Need help on beak trimming

Well, I think I will have help. Just not comfortable doing it by myself. I'll find some poor person to hold her. And....how do you upload pictures? I have tried several times and it tells me the file is too big?

Here's a little girl who was having issues. Her beak was slightly curved and her beak would get overgrown. I trimmed to where I added the black line across her beak.

I would trim a little bit every week or as you felt comfortable that it was still requiring a trim. I've haven't trimmed close to the quick.
Good picture. That's makes it clear.
I've also used a regular fingernail clipper and just nipped a tiny bit at a time.
You can use a nail file to round it out if you need to.

Wrapping her snug in a towel helps a lot. Ugh like a burrito. Then you can hold him across your lap. Make sure ou have plenty of light so you can see what you're doing.
I like this kind of file the best.
Big enough to have a good grip on.

I have my pictures set to the biggest size on my phone. But I saw a thread with someone else experiencing that.

For uploading, there's a couple of ways. You can click the "upload a file" button at the bottom right-hand corner of this composing window. Then you can browse through your files.

You can also drag and drop pictures into this window. This is the way I load most of mine. You can also drag several pictures at the same time. You click on the pic and drag it so you hover over the search engine. When it changes to the thread window, move the picture over the composing box until it shows you can drop it.

@happyhens1972,
Will that heal right? How did that happen?

I took the picture from the internet, hence why I credited it to the OT. It was just to show you a close up of the white versus dark area I was talking about but yes, there's no reason why that beak would not heal. I had ex battery girls that came to me with a third/two thirds of their beak cut off, like the picture below, and it grew to look perfectly normal eventually. I just trimmed and filed it into shape as it grew in, to prevent it deforming....

Yeah, watch what you google. Most commercial farms clip their beaks like that. It prevents them from pecking each other and generally saves the company money, but makes it so they are unable to eat from anything but a pile of pellets.

It can also split their beak down the middle, all the way up to the nasal area :(
