My peacock has not been acting right for several weeks. I took him to the vet and they did xrays, blood work, and a stool sample and everything appears to be normal. The peacock will be 3 years old this June. He is reluctant to come out of the loft or even go outside. He is eating and drinking, but not his normal amount. He can swallow normally and even call out. He will put his tail up for his hen. I have been giving him probiotics, electrolytes and kickin chicken and egg yolk. The strange thing is how he holds his neck and raises and lowers his head when he is sitting still. If he is moving around or holding his tail up, he holds his neck straight. Has anyone ever seen this? A friend of mine said to tag casportpony to see if she can help.

I have had chickens all my life. I love the Silkies and Belgian D'anvers. I help a local elementary school incubate and hatch out eggs for the kids.

LOL, mating foreplay. He is bowing to the hen to show that he isn't aggressive.

I also wanted you to know that this peacock was hand raised and bonded with my son and I. "P" usually follows us everywhere and takes walks with my 3 dogs and me and is in everything we are doing. His hen follows close behind him. We got her when she was young and she trusts us but stays her distance. But the last 3 weeks he didn't want to come out of the barn. He really doesn't act like himself. Now I am wondering if 2 different things are going on. I am starting to wonder if he thinks we are part of his flock.....
