Need help with MG (or CRD). Is it in eggs??

And, I just got back in from burring eggs

Well if you have already touched them, then I would say get them AWAY from the rest of your birds, and see how they do. If they are still fine after 3 weeks, then they are probably safe.
I wouldnt rush in and go kill them though.

Good luck to both of you!

Im sorry I am overreacting Iam dealing this in the middle of a big phone hopping tagging message leaveing hoopla with my neroilgist, nerosurgen and inshurance , I went and got a chi tea latte and a piece of cheesecake and Im gonna drown my sorrows in some comfort food.

Thank goodness the person who sold you both the eggs was honest and conscientious. Good for her! I hate seeing people who've had illness in their flock continuing to sell eggs from that flock, and they really have no idea if it is a disease that passes through the egg or not. The chance that CRD or MG is on the outside of the egg are slim, unless the person who collected them or packed them handled a sick bird and deposited germs on the outside of the shell. However, with serious chicken diseases, often you are instructed to destroy all packing materials by burning them as well as to destroy the eggs themselves, just in case.

Kudos to the honest and concerned seller for informing you!

I agree, SH!

The only bird the seller had that was visibly sick, was not sick until yesterday (about a week and a half since my eggs were shipped)... so I seriously doubt these eggs were contaminated

But, that is not very relevant since I destroyed the eggs already.

I really feel it would be over-board to destroy all 180 eggs I have in that incubator. That is just my personal opinion. By the way, I am moving the eggs to a hatcher before they hatch anyway, so that is actually a great sanitary/precautionary measure, I think

For the record, this seller only shipped eggs to me and gabrielle1976, so no one else need worry!
This person was new to the egg-shipping business. I did have such great results (price, packing, fertility) that I fully planned on buying another batch of these eggs. I am just sorry this happened
