So does that mean if the NPIP doenst even test for it. That means you could be buying, thinking your getting disease free birds.. And you could still be infecting your flock.. Is this correct.. Boy its kind of scary, sort of.. I wonder how wide spread this disease is..

All this stuff has been around forever, and will continue to be here forever. No since trying to let your birds live in a protective bubble. It just takes one slip up, and you loose near everything.
When I see an infected bird, IF it is one of my expensive birds I might give em some Tylan 50. IF that doesn't solve the issue, let nature take over. For each I loose 2 live thru it and become stronger for their breed.

hopefully not as bad as myco in rats , same family I bealve of deises and it is now almost impossible to get a rat anywhere in the world that does not have or carry this , only small groups of quriantined lab animals .

If a bird survives this disease. Will it be a carrier? Or does only some of them become carriers? And can a bird be a carrier with out actually becoming sick with it..

New to learning about poultry diseases.

Thanks for your time..

There's an article in the this thread somewhere that uses a double-dose of a specific antibiotic for the 1st 8 days of life as a means of prevention.
