So far, nothing. Yesterday morning there was some peeping, and 2 days ago a couple of eggs moved a tiny bit.
But no pips, and today no peeping either.
I know, I know...... I've read all the posts here about being patient. But these are my Marans eggs, and I am about going nuts here. How long after you hear peeping should you start to worry?
Words of encouragement, please!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could give you words of encouragement, but I can't.

Lots of factors involved here.

Humidity too high?
Humidity too low?
Non consistent temps?

Did you candle at day 8? at day 18?

Eggs laying down?
Eggs in a carton?

Plugs in?
Plugs out?

Type of incubator?

I'm sorry... at the start of day 24, I'd start doing "eggtopsies".

I used a hovabator 1588 with auto-turner for the first 18 days. Temp consistently 99-100, humidity 30-45%
All but 4 of 12 eggs were growing and went to hatcher on day 18.
Hatcher is an LG still air. Eggs are on the metal grate, on their sides. Temp 100 to 102, humidity 50-69%.
Eggs were peeping yesterday, but nothing today.

My last hatch (bantams) hatched at day 19, so this is worrisome.

Thanks.

Patience!! I am trying out a older Lyons bator, I have two, my first one works perfectly!!! This one has been giving me fits!! I have a small (3 eggs) in the bator and I am on day 24!! I just got my first pip!!! So step away and things may work out!!! Always a chance!!

I opened up the eggs: All are dead. Most had pipped into the air space; a couple had not gotten that far. One looked like it died a couple of days ago (still had good sized yolk-sac attached.) The membranes appeared slightly dry (I don't know how it is supposed to look.) Shells were all intact and hard.
I kept the humidity in the LG (hatcher) as high as I could get it. Both water chambers full, and I had two wet sponges in there. I did not open the hatcher once, except to open the eggs tonight.

I really feel AWFUL, and I have more eggs (Ameraucana) eggs to move to the hatcher on Monday. Please someone tell me what to do!

are they shipped eggs if so on all shipped eggs I take a egg carton cut of bottoms and cut sides down some and hatch in it. shipping make the air sacs weird shapes and laying on their sides to hatch they sometimes pip into the bad side of the air sac. try to get your humidity up to about 62 or so with my lg I have to tape the seams closed as its not a close fit and I loose humidity there.
