need ID for my beautiful black hen

Any guesses on the parentage of my lovely --and smart -- black hen? Raven came from a friend this spring and is a white egg layer with slender gray legs, a green sheen to her feathers, and a neat curled tuft of feathers on her back. Her comb and wattle are quite small compared to my other two. She's not an especially heavy bird. I was told that she may be a cross of Americauna, BR, and ??

Is she a full sized chicken?

She looks like my Hazel that is handicapped. She was given to me also & I thought she was australorp cross cause now she is getting some partridge looking feathers around her neck & she has the dark gray legs too. She is already bigger than my Bantie hens.

I think yours is an Australorp. Just a guess though

I dont think she's a bantam -- she is full size, although not as big as some I've seen, and her eggs are definitely medium-large to large. My friend does have banties, but this one couldnt be a bantie cross and still be full size, could she?? There is a lot I dont know about chickens yet, as this is my first season with them.

I am amazed by the craftiness of this particular girlie -- she will deliberately avoid going back to the coop in the evening if she's not ready, despite my best efforts to "guide" her back in! When I'm digging in the garden, she shoves right in to get the worms and bugs I unearth. If I offer her a treat that she doesnt want, she gives me a sidelong glance that says, "that's dog food!" Learning to live with chickens is quite an experience!

With the white earlobes, she could be either the Black Andalusian OR Black Leghorn.

In answer to a few of your posts (thank you!), she is a full-size chicken but not a large chicken. Her comb is small -- a pea comb? and her body size is not as full and deep as the pics of Australorps on the internet. Also, she's a white egg layer, not brown. Then there is the neat tuft of swirled feathers on her back just forward of her tail -- a bit hard to see in the photo, but definitely there. I dont know whether that is a breed characteristic or just a quirk, but it's really cool.

I guess if she's an Australorp, she must be a cross (with what?) b/c of the lighter body size, white eggs color, and small comb.

My first guess would be Andalusian. My next guess would be Black Leghorn. Both breeds are of the smallest standard breed chickens.
