Need Ideas for my First Loft

I would like to build my first loft so that I can get some pigeons before summer! I've really never had any. I really just want them as pets. I think I might show them at our county fair and the one pigeon show we have around here. I want just to keep like a cage thing that I could walk into but keep on our back porch. Any ideas? could you show me your set up?

How many birds are you planing on having. And what breed.
You need 1-2 sq feet per pigeon, you should be able to reach the roof with your hands unless you want to be chasing pigeons all the time.

My loft is 15 by 10 feet, it has a counter with shelves above it and a sink. This part of the 30 foot long structure has 1 breeding cage and 2 other cages.

I was thinking about getting two pairs of Birmingham Rollers and two pairs of something else. I kind of want to keep them in a hutch like shelleyd2008 kept her doves. is that possible?

If you want to walk in to the loft, you might want to look at the redrose lofts. They have a nice website with several pictures of folks that build one (try google)
