Mybird is a little over two years old and laying almost every day.
Active, fun loving, got nothing but worms and bugs and treats on her mind. Has been battling bumblefoot for three months but clear of it now.

Today i saw this red/brown mass clinging to her but and I dont know what to make of it. I removed it and it was leathery with a clear gel substance inside. On both ends there were stringy substances and dark blue/green fecal blobs. They leached color onto the napkin.
She is also a bit lethargic today.

Need input. Failed egg? Lashegg? Something prolasped? What should i be doing?

Yikes! I don't know what that is. Just signing on to the thread to see if anyone knows what you are dealing with and how to treat the animal.

FWIW, it looks like some kind of prolapse to me. I have seen a lash egg before, but it looked quite different.

It came away without blood but I cant rule prolapse out. She is spending the day and night in my hospital tote under observation. And I have started adding apple cider vinager to the water. Noticed also that she isn't eating much. Just quietly calling out when I am close.

I wish you had placed a ruler next to this "thing" so we could have an idea how large it is. The size of it is pertinent to how serious it might be.

Until I have more information as to size, I'm guessing it may have come from the wall of the oviduct. A very small bit of oviduct tissue is not usually of concern, but this appears to be a bit more than that.

The report she's behaving lethargically adds concern this may not be harmless tissue shed.

I agree, it looks more like a membrane with mucous or albumen.

I'd give extra calcium once a day for several days (Calcium Citrate 1 tablet a day). Hopefully she will resume laying normal hard shelled eggs.
If she's not acting off, her crop is emptying, she's eating/drinking/pooping and active, then personally, I'd put her back with her flock and monitor her from there.

About 4 inches long and before I opened it up, about 3/4 inch in diamater.....maybe an 1 1/2 at the thickest point

She seems to be pooping mucus, I just barely saw one. Its the color and consistency of egg white

Can you get photos of the poop?

If she's expelling mucous or egg white, then she may be having some reproductive issues or has had another soft shelled egg break inside. I'd get the calcium into her to see if she expels another membrane.

I'd also consider starting her on an oral antibiotic. Amoxicillin is a good choice, but if you have something else on hand, let us know.
