I have 4 of the 5 gallon buckets, 2 of them I have a heavy duty cord that I tied the bucket handle to a corner post in the lot and have not had any problems with the handles breaking off (they been hanging there for 2 yrs now. took a drill and made a hole in the top big enough to stick a water hose in it. I can fill them from outside of the lot by sticking the water hose through the fence and into the bucket hole.
another one I have sitting on an old metal oblong milk crate, the milk crate is sitting on it's side and the nipples go through the openings, I have an old metal calf feeder bucket sitting upside down inside the milk crate, the smaller chickens jump on that to get drink.
my other one is sitting on top of the raised cage thing that I have smaller chickens in, it's sitting on a board (part of the frame of the cage) and each nipple is on either side of the board that goes through the chicken wire on top of the cage (cage approx 15 ft long and 6 ft deep)
