NEED Sci-Fi titles

Thanks everyone!

To me, Sci-fi is pretty much any book set in the future. Like The Postman, one of my favorite books. Even though The Postman does not technically have a lot of "science-fiction" features, I still consider it within the genre.

Post-apocalyptic stuff, aliens, time-travel, talking plants, just about anything...

I particularly love Pierre Ouellette. If you haven't read The Deus Machine, you are missing out! It's set in our old neighborhood in Portland. We used to live near the Ouellette family.

I have read pretty much all the fantasy that I care to read... all the Mercedes Lackey, Pern series. Over the years I lost interest in most fantasy. I've read Card and Heinlein several times over.

I really love detailed technical-scientific Sci-Fi - space-ships, planetary exploration, alien technology, etc.

Basically, if someone else loves a book, I'm willing to read it, no matter the genre!!

I just listened to "Dragon Harper a new novel of Pern" by Anne McCaffrey and Todd McCaffrey.

There must be others before this one. This was a really good story. IT was sort of weird at first, because I do not usually do Sci-Fi's.

well... I did read the "Maximum Ride" series by James Patterson, which is awesome!

So far I've read all the titles suggested except Maximum Ride. I'll look for that!

read Dragon Harper just 3 months ago -- it was pretty good. I guess I'd still be willing to read any Pern books that come out. They aren't as "fanstasy" as some.

I tend to read a lot of Juvenile Fiction books as well. Not really sure WHY..I guess because They aren't always about sex, but more adventure.

Someother books that I have read.. which may or may not tickle your fantasy are Warriors: Into the Wild series by Erin Hunter, The Guardians of Ga'Hoole series by Kathryn Lasky, Soul Eater by Michelle Paver.

These 3 are all fast reads, but I do really like them. Warriors is my favorite, check out her website.

thanks!..i will try to find the book you suggested chicabee...i love to try new things!...what about some Robin Cook books..i think he does some futuristic stuff....Sphere?....and i have another one around here somewhere..i'll try to find it!...i dont know if that is what you sort of mean?..LOL..sorry..wish i could help ya more!, Take Care, Wendy

Anything by Neal Stephenson will blow your mind. Snow Crash and The Diamond Age are good places to start. Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy is very good. Roger Zelazny's Amber books are a good read if you like a little fantasy in your sci-fi.
