Thanks everyone!
To me, Sci-fi is pretty much any book set in the future. Like
The Postman, one of my favorite books. Even though The Postman does not technically have a lot of "science-fiction" features, I still consider it within the genre.
Post-apocalyptic stuff, aliens, time-travel, talking plants, just about anything...
I particularly love Pierre Ouellette. If you haven't read
The Deus Machine, you are missing out! It's set in our old neighborhood in Portland. We used to live near the Ouellette family.
I have read pretty much all the fantasy that I care to read... all the Mercedes Lackey, Pern series. Over the years I lost interest in most fantasy. I've read Card and Heinlein several times over.
I really love detailed technical-scientific Sci-Fi - space-ships, planetary exploration, alien technology, etc.
Basically, if someone else loves a book, I'm willing to read it, no matter the genre!!
