need some advice please

I am so sorry to hear this about Heather, I know it is a very had decision to make especially when they are still eating, when i had to make that decision mine had stopped eating for at least 2 days. But they went fast not lingering, Haven't had one like Heather. I think you just know in you heart when to say goodbye, no one can really tell you. You have done so much to try to help her, sometimes it's just not meant to be. please keep us updated.

well i would think after almost 3 weeks i would see some kind of improvement.her hardly pooing really worries me.i hold her head up to try to get her to eat but she wont.i really dont like to force feed with a syringe,i think i asperated a hen once doing that and she died,so im not comfortable doing it.but when they dont eat i thought they go fairly quickly,so i dont know.i always second guess myself.

I do too, The not pooing is worrisome for sure, she must not be getting much nourishment, I am not comfotable force feeding either. When my hen was sick I tried to give her food just a small amount through the day but she wouldn't take it, I would drizzle water along her beak to get her to drink, I know some say to tube feed but I would need to have some one here to show me how. Maybe just give her a little more time either she will perk up or she'll go on. I wish i could help you more.

you help alot just talking to me.thanks so much.your the only one who has tried to help me and i appreciate it very much.

Your very welcome, I just wish I could tell you what would be best for her. I know I have read alot from posters that have had great outcomes and then some not so great, it sure isn't because you haven't tried thats for sure. I guess it's just day by day till you know one way or the other.

You can check my website. I have the vet treatment for Wry neck on the 2nd tab at the bottom of the page. I have brought 2 silkies out of it using this method in less than a week.
Good luck with your girl I sure hope she gets better. See id you can get a vet to dispense the pred and baytril without a visit.
