Need some hatching buddies - Hatching May 24-28

If I have shipped eggs, I candle before they go into the incubator to check for cracks. People say that you can candle between days 7 and 10 to check for development....I prefer closer to day 10. Then a lot of people candle again before lockdown to throw out any clear eggs at that point.

Hope that helps!

Don't worry about it if you aren't exactly right on the time. Mother hen doesn't have a watch!

I have heard you want to make sure and get at least 3 turns a day in....I think you'll be fine!

So....my Delaware chick from the last hatch that I had to help out of the egg didn't make it. It lived to be a week old and I thought it was doing good (although a bit slower growing than the others). Well, I did the best I could with it.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Delaware chick. I am one that would probably want to help out my chicks too but I am going to try hard not to and let nature take its course. Too hard on the heart when something happens like that.

It does thank you. About day ten is when you should start seeing veins? Is this right?

I turn mine 2 to 3 times a day and some days I only get 1 turn in for I am not home for the day. it was fine on my first hatch with 11/13 hatching
