Need some hatching buddies - Hatching May 24-28

egg is 45 degrees from straight up and down, then when you turn it's 45 degrees the other way.....you'll be turning it around 90 degrees, but don't put it on it's side.

I do my eggs on there side and not in a carton at all. I had a 11/13 hatch the first time out. I try to do as much as I can as natural as I can and a chicken don't use a carton to put her eggs in while she is sitting on them so why should I.

I was just wondering because someone had told me to try and keep the pointy side down even as I was turning manually. I don't know how I could accomplish that. I'm not crazy about putting them in an egg carton but I'll get an egg turner as soon as I can

You know. I would be a lot more pumped about having 35 eggs in the incubator if 23 of them hadn't taken 5 days to get here!!! Only 6 more days til I find out if any of them actually survived the trip. I do really have high hopes for the 12 Delaware eggs that are on day 5. I am feeling a really good hatch from them....I am going to predict 9/12!

Well the other day I was like "oh mine never take more than 2 to 3 days to arrive coming by priority mail"..... I jinxed myself! My duck eggs were shipped on Tuesday via Priority Mail from Indiana coming to Oklahoma. Well I thought for sure they would have came by Saturday but they didn't. So if I get them today they will be 6 days in the mail. I am not to hopeful at this point about their hatch rate

The lady was very nice and included lots of extras. I just really hope they arrive today. It was 93 degrees yesterday so I hope they were at least sitting in the air condition. Too bad we can't all find the eggs we want locally.

Silly me, just noticed I posted a wrong picture..wrong everything..no Nankins in that picture a few pages back! Those little babies are some I just hatched out..Ameraucanas. Blues, black, and a couple look to be splash, and the cute typical looking black eyeliner, skunk striped Ameraucana. Pretty little ones. Have them all sold, keeping my favs.

Think my last batch are done hatching. Had 16 eggs in the 'bator and all but 3 hatched. One I knew wouldn't do anything, bad egg at candling, one my daughter dropped and cracked (wasn't sure what would happen with that one) and the other one may, but due date was yesterday and all the other ones hatched early. Love the hatching part!
