Need some hatching buddies - Hatching May 24-28

It does sound like a bacteria or virus that started in the incubator = = = = BUT do check and make sure they are not too hot with the heat lamp.

There are some diseases that are spread from egg to chick. .. . These were all your own eggs ? ? ?

I am on DAY 21. . . .

I've heard peeping ALL DAY. . . .

PIPPING started this evening AND it looks like every one wants to come out and play at the same time. .. . .

I don't have any one who has hatched yet, but there is a lot of activity going on. . . .I hear pieces of the shells being picked off as I type this!

What kind of incubator do you use? What kind of eggs? Whats your humidity and temp set at? I had a 10% hatch this time (1st time) and wanted to know what to do to get a better percentage.

Congrats! I hope I hear some peeping tomorrow on day 21 for me. I have 8/12... 4 werent fertile...shipped eggs. All had development around 14-15th day. I didnt candle after that. At this point, I will be happy if 1 hatches. Yes, I want more...but this being my first hatch, I am so nervous that 1 will be great!!

Had 42 eggs in our homemade incubator day 21 is tomorrow. So far we've had 32 hatch out of those one died and one only has one leg but he's still alive. We have 3 that are pipped. I didnt candle the eggs to cull the non fertile ones so i dont know if the other 7 are going to hatch or not. Has anyone ever seen a 1 legged chicken survive?

I am using a hovabotor model 2363 N. It is only my second time hatching in this incubator. First time around, the temps were a little too low none of the chicks started hatching until day 22. I hatched around 50 - 60% off the eggs that time. The temps being low could cause the chicks to get to tired and big to get out of the shells.

PREVIOUS hatches were in a homemade incubator and were more successful.

For the first 18 days, I run the humidity at 40 - 45%.
Last 3 days, I like to run it at 65- 70%.

I have black copper marans, delawares, and wheaten ameracuanas' eggs in there. The Marans were shipped eggs, the delawares are mine, and the ameracuana's I picked up from CPARTIST.

I use Brisnea's spot check digital thermometer to check my temps with.

Well...I figured the eggs would all be pipped or going active overnight...but just two have pipped. I put these in at 4 pm so I guess during today they will be pipping and zipping...hopefully anyway.
This is my 3rd hatch and the previous hatches have gone good so I will assume since I have it set the same that these Jerseys are just "slow" to hatch like they are "slow" to mature..

The one legged chick is weird....must be genetic.

Good luck everyone on hatches!!

I have. Someone else out there in BYC land has one and she didn't notice it till a day or so later. It acts normal. Just missing a leg. The pic was kinda freaky. I also had a broody step on a chick (of course my best looking one) and break its leg. The leg is useless now but she gets around and it doesn't hurt her. I just gave her to a friend who will only have 3-4 hens so she doesn't get picked on much. I do plan to have her visit with my roosters and have my friend collect eggs for me to hatch.

I am due to hatch 11 BCM eggs that I purchased from an accuaintance and I have 7 more of my Faverolle eggs (2 may be duds) on Sat the 28th.
