Joining the thread a little late. First pip this morning. Wasn't expecting anything til tomorrow. I hear the chirping. We had a problem when I moved mom to the broody coop (attached to small barn). She decided to fly up and perch and ignore the nest. Put all the eggs back under another broody girl (we have three right now sharing two nest of eggs). I'm hoping an hour or two without mama won't be too detrimental to the hatch. This is our first time hatching eggs. Our second batch will be in two more weeks. We candled the eggs at 15 days to make sure. All have growth and air sacs. One has two air sacs at each end. Worried about leaving them tonight. Should they be okay with the rest of our small flock? (no roosters - 9 hens - all are banty or banty/cross except an older RIR and BR.)

I get confused..so it isn't you when I ask...is it the eggs you are worried about leaving..or are you worried about leaving the chickens all to gether...or is it all of the above.
I dont know what I am doing wronge. ths is my 2nd hatch. I have 18 eggs under a Buff Orph Hen. I never candled them or anything i just left them be until today. Today is day 21. I have nothing so far. I sat them late at night.
My last hatch started hatching on day 22. People say that if they are under a hen they sometimes hatch a day early...well not in my case...Any advice?
Hi y'all. Quick question. My eggs are pipping and my humidity was at 55% this am so I put a wet rag in there. Well I called my husband & he said another one has pipped and my humidity is about 79%. Is that too high? Will they get sticky or drown?
My humidity ran high the whole time. about 75% was normal for me, it would go from 65%-80% though. (At 80% I would take a cork out to bring it back down)
