I was looking at them just a few minutes ago and they look cold. they keep shivering. is that normal? it's not cold in there
Chillin..if you took them out of the brooder, then you can do what I do..I get a clean dish towel, make a circle around them with the heat lamp right over them. It keeps them together, and the circle keeps the heat in that area. Make sense? Those babies need to be warm.
Someone asked about food? And, someone said what I would say..
they are fine for a few days..just give them some water if you want. Mine will usually go over and check it out. I use the small waterer, so as not to have any drown. A lot of folks use the rocks in a waterer that is bigger so they can't get in there.
Good luck all..mine are still working at getting out. I think I may just have one out in an hr..or close to that.
no they are still in the bator. I have 2 eggs that have pipped so I don't really want to pull them out yet. they are dry but their feathers are not fluffy. probably just lack of friction they would get like under mama hen
can they go 2 days without food? tomorow is a holiday and it will take until tuesday evening for DH to bring some home
I wonder how long it will take those 2 that have pipped. one has been at it since this evening and it's 1am the other has been at it for about half that time
