Need some hatching buddies - Hatching May 24-28

I got 16 Jersey Giant to hatch from my last hatch I'm so happy hope to get some show birds out of this hatch.
I'm done hatching until after the local fair. With this last hatch I'm up to 60 chickens various ages.

Well....I ran home to check on the progress and was disappointed. I am destined to not hatch any Delaware chickens from this breeder! I am glad I have 18 in the coop already.

The one that I heard chirping last night wasn't making any noise today, so I quickly moved the eggs around to find out what was going on. It had pipped on the bottom side of the egg and at the pointy end. It didn't have a chance. I have a bad feeling about the other 3 that I thought were viable.....nothing is happening there either.

I do have 5 eggs due on Friday/Saturday....they are all still doing well (I candled last night)

I'm still at one hatched

No pipping or peeping from the other eggs...I thought there were two more that looked really good just before lockdown but who knows they may decide to do something or may not.

I moved the hatched chick out since nothing is happening in the bator...took 2 seconds and the incubator humidity hardly moved. I hope I don't have an only chick -I'll have to go chick shopping if that's the case!

Congrats 4H mom!! Great to hear of your success. Good luck Stevenson and everyone else. I always worry that only 1 will hatch too and then they'd be lonely! Tomorrow is day 21 for me!! Yikes...hope I get some pips going!

fife..let us know when that first pip happens. Can't remember what you have in either!?

4-H...lucky you, is it true that the Jerseys take a while to mature because of their size? I've considered getting some. Waiting is no problem if they are good egg layers..of big eggs...and I have others laying in the meantime.
