Hey BYC! I found this baby dove that fell from the nest yesterday and I have her in a cage with a light to keep her warm. I don’t know the gender yet but I think it’s a girl. She seems to be doing great but I keep feeding her baby chick feed mixed with water. Is that ok? What should I feed her?

I couldn’t find the nest and she would’ve died if I left her out there so as a bird momma would do I took her in for some help! Here are some pics.

You can make a dove milk formula from egg, baby cereal and soy milk. I raised a baby zebra dove that we found in our yard with this formula to adulthood. You have to make a hole in a plastic bag and then they will eat out of it with some encouragement. Multiple posts on YouTube on how to do this.
Good luck!😊

I think you can find a pidgeon mix in a feed store. I raised a little dove with a mix of polenta (corn flour) and chickens feed mixed with water. If she isn't able to eat you have to feed it with a large syringe to which you have cut the top and blunt the edges with a lighter so that they are not sharp.
