Need some taxidermy help. if there are any taxidermists out there.

I don't have antlers. My ram hide is going to the taxidermist tomorrow. it is nearly 4 feet long. Woot! He is coming back soft as butter.

Yup i tan my deer hides as well myself..alot of work to get them nice and soft..but the pay off is well worth the work..did a few fox and coon as well. I use rittles ez100 tan kits..
The one deer hide i use as a seat cover on my favorite chair..very cozy and warm..

I must be getting old, Borax completely slipped my mind! Like I said earlier, you can totally use salt. Everyone has that on hand all the time. You just need the powders to suck the moisture away. It should make it easier to clean.

I would definitely save your bucks hide as well. It looks nice and plush.

If you aren't considering buying a tanning kit, you can look up how Native Americans tan their hides. Brains and water is supposed to work VERY well, as well as waterproofing it too.
