Isn't there something with that Crested gene that increases fatalities? The nare looks normal to me but I am looking at pictures.

Yeah, one eye is bigger than the other plus the eyes are off center like one is higher than the other eye as well as being closer to her bill. and her head to body ratio is waaay too different. Plus she has the skull dent without the crest

Oh and her feet are HUGE. And her organs are outside her body too

And just think, if you're seeing defects on the outside, there could be defects on the inside. I'm so sorry. I love and adore the look of crested ducks but the genetics and possibilities of brain damage scares me. That crest is so adorable though!!! I just have to enjoy them from afar

I’m giving it one more chance to see if I can get a couple normal babies, I just cleaned the bator and set five more little eggs in with the humidity adjusted

Are you keeping a separate calibrated thermometer in the incubator during the incubation? It'd be a good idea. My brand new incubator wasn't accurate but I wouldn't have known that without the calibrated separate thermometer in the unit. Inaccurate temps can cause a lot of problems.

Maybe a lightly damp paper towel over the eggs until then would work to maintain humidity for the eggs?

You'll want to calibrate it, just search for "calibrating thermometer" and an article should come up with directions
