Need to go or IT WONT BE GOOD

Suggestions are always great!

Getting them shipped is something that could be looked into.

I realize @Star and eclipsa this is something you may not want to hear - but sometimes you have to be realistic. Every one of these chickens is fairly "old" in chicken years - from 3years on up - stress from shipping would be a concern, as well as overall health. It's fun to think of taking in "unwanted pets" but sometimes that's just not a very good idea - you would want to quarantine them away from your existing flock for 30days for health observations - do you have a set-up that would allow you to do that. A lot of things needs to be considered before bringing adults to your property.

It best that @Jessica Thompson either advertise them for free on craigslist - with no stipulations - best not to ask questions. If birds are being sold or given away - you can't dictate what happens to them - you have no expectations to tell what they can/can't do with livestock they buy. The other option would be to cull, eat or give them a proper burial.

I don't mean to sound one bit harsh - but looking back - it looks like they have been trying since October to re-home a couple of these. Usually, if they are put on craigslist - someone will take them, unless people are seeing something they don't like.
I do have a good place to quaranteen them, and i would drive to warren in a heartbeat to get them myself if i was old enough to drive, instead of just getting them shipped to me.

You can ship birds over 3days old in the US, but I believe they have to have NPIP certification if crossing state lines. At least that is what I understand - someone correct me if I'm wrong. Every box of chicks I've ever had through the mail, certifications are prominently posted on the outside of the box. I can only assume, paperwork has to accompany live started pullets/adults too.

I suppose it's possible that you could ship "privately" without paperwork if you hired someone to drive birds. Sort of like "shipping wars, where people bid on shipping jobs:)

If I'm not mistaken, you can't ship across state lines without NPIP (paperwork disclosing AI and Pollurum free) Shipping live large fowl is very expensive not to mention the specialty shipping boxes - it would set someone back some serious $$$

You're quite right. I believe totals came to near one hundred dollars for one adult bird the last time I checked.

Nope cant ship poultry over 3 days old in the US

Really? Ok, i understand that. Chicks dont have to eat the first few days, and older hens definitely do have to eat.

Then how are hatcheries allowed to ship started pullets in the mail?
