I live in a town with an ordinance prohibiting roosters, so I need to know if this one needs to be adopted out! It is about 16 weeks old, and suddenly got as big as my chicks that are about 22 weeks. It has also been pretty dominant since day one.

Yes, he is a cockeral. The predominance of white in the barring, development of saddle feathers, comb and wattles. He's a nice cockeral, shouldn't be too hard to find him another home.

Thanks! I was afraid of that. I got them from Tractor Supply and they were supposed to be pullets. I have another one that's probably also a roo, but is a little smaller. The third of the group is definitely a girl! I have ten chickens altogether and the two of the 22-week old ones are laying like crazy! Glad to be posting here. I've been reading the forums since I got the first group of chicks.

HE is going to be a whopper!

Those saddle feathers are gearing up to be so lush....he is too pretty for Camp Stewpot.... oh,....DO try to find him a home in the country.

Yes, he is beautiful. I hate to get rid of him, but the law is the law! I have friend in the country who will be happy to take him. I need to give her a call!

Just wanted to add an update--he is definitely a rooster--crowing up a storm. A friend of mine came to get him two days ago. He'll have a nice flock to lord over out in the country.
