Do you have tractor supply or southern states store near you? they should have it. I have never heard of anybody using the injectable in the drinking water before.

Got some Tylan soluble..the directions say to mix up the whole jar with 1 gallon of water and then mix that with 50 gallons of water...now to be a little more practical..how much should I mix with 5 gallons of water...this stuff is expensive! I only have 4 turkeys and I put their water in a horse bucket..which is propably 3 gallons. Also I bought some Sulmet..should I try this first or use at the same time as the Tylan?? Yikes!!!

Hello, If its OK I just wanted to tell my experience with my Turkey with a swollen sinus. This was this past spring and it swelled up and when you pushed on the sinus his eye would bubble. I did try some things I got from First Vet Supply but it never really stopped so I took him to a vet, he lanced both sinuses got something like 2ccs out and put an antibotic directly in the sinus and I brought him home. He did real well for about 4 weeks and then again. To make a long story shorter I finally took him one more time and another vet did the same thing but used a different antibotic which put a stop to it. Now it is fall and they are filling up again. I think I will have them get the stuff in the sinus tested so we can know what it is so I can treat it when it happens rather than when it gets bad. I Know that doesnt help you but just wanted to share what I had been fighting. Good luck and I hope yours gets better fast. Terri

5gal. ~10% of 51gal. 1gal.=16cups 1/10 of 16=1.6cups ~1.6cups per 5gal. (approx. 10 5gal. doses).

If you have a digital scale you can weigh the entire amount of powder and then add 1/50th of the total to one gallon (better to go over just a little).​

Mycoplasma Gallisepticum causes respiratory problems - coughing and sneezing, nasal discharge and runny 'bubbly' eyes in poultry. There are various forms of Mycoplasma, all are opportunist organisms that multiply when the bird is struck with another malaise like Infectious Bronchitis or have a stress trigger. In most instances the infection in poultry is aggravated by respiratory problems and is commonly called "Chronic Respiratory Disease" or "CRD".

The stress trigger can be small such as moving birds to different housing or adding new birds, a change in diet, mites or even a sudden change in the weather. Some birds unfortunately die, some birds are only carriers and some birds are sick and recover but repeatedly have bouts of illness (not normally as bad as the first time though). As it can be carried by wild birds, it is a problem with birds that are allowed to free range as they can come into contact with it easily.

It works out to 2 teaspoons for 5 gallons of water. It's best to mix the powder in a smaller jar/container something you can shake really well to mix it. It tends to clump together when it's wet. Just mix enough for one days use, it looses it effect. And if I remember right you treat for 3 or 5 days. It should say so on the lable.

Thanks, Steve (don't use solubles/solutions for anything but preventatives - sick birds usually consume too little and most goes to waste) I'd just weigh out 2gm. per gal.

one of my bourben red hens has had the same thing and it looked very bad but in a week with no treetment it was fine I noticed one of the toms also had a puffy eye not as bad and it also recovered on its own

I have been know to stick a needle (like a 16g or 18g) with a syringe attached into the swollen part of the face and slowly suck the gunk out. First time I did it I pulled out about 5 cc's of turkey snot (great for grossing out the folks at work). I was amazed that the turkey sat still once the needle was in, probably afraid to move for fear it's face would get ripped. But probably gave some relief from the pressure...
