I wanted to tell you I went to an Auction in Washingtonville PA yesterday and I wish I would have gone to TSC instead. They auction off everything, including animals and they had chickens, chicks it was terrible. [IMG] There was a small box that said 4 chicks. I opened the box to find one dead and one almost dead. [IMG] They had 6 grown chickens in boxes that I don't know how they got them all in there. Boxes and boxes of them. They had turkeys, now they were in large cages. They had white doves, they were ok. You could tell which Amish took care of their animals and which did not. There were goats there that looked like they should still be with their mommies. Some were so thin and they sucked on my fingers. I cried. [IMG] It was so sad.

I'm sorry for telling you this, didn't mean to get anyone else upset. I hope they all went to better homes. I saw people carrying baby goats and sheep out.

They had about 2 dozen chicks in a box I don't know what they were. They were all yellow with brown lines going down on both sides of their backs. They were the cutest little things. Could anyone tell me what they were?

    Thanks for letting me vent.

    * The feed store I went to a couple months ago had little tinys that looked like that. All they could tell me was that they were bantys.

Sorry to tell you, but it sounds like it was a typical livestock auction. That's why I don't go to them. The animals they sell are just like they state in the auction name. They are "LIVESTOCK". Nothing more, nothing less. It is sad all the way around. Sorry you had to experience it for yourself. :aww

That is why the first auction I went to was the last.

That's one of the reasons I'm glad that we don't have them around here.

    Welcome back Mayberry.

TSC is Trackor Supply Company. And nope they didn't have feathers on their feet. I looked so I could explain better.[IMG] If you stay away from the animals you will be OK. They had quilts, hand made furniture, flowers, vegies, and a lot of other things. They had a lot of items. I was there until 3:00pm waiting for the box I wanted and it was well away from the animals. Thank God.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that.
There are people who are completely dedicated to their animals...
and there are peopl who don't give a rats... butt about it... they're just in it for the money.

I haven't ever been to one, but by the way you guys describe them, if I did... I'd be bringing home so many animals because they need proper care and by the way you guys describe them, they need the care and attention they deserve!
