I love the way you described the foster care system and your relationship with the birth mother. As I type this, I am awaiting for news on the birth dad of our two foster-to-adopt sons. He is supposed to be on trial for some really ugly crimes and I am just shaking my head, wondering how these two precious little boys came into our lives. Being a foster parent is such an incredible gift and, yet, it can be one of the most painful, difficult things out there, especially when dealing with the legal red tape. I'm so glad the caseworkers are helping and supporting you all right now.
Prayers sent for your foster daughter and your family.
One of our nieces was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in February. She had just turned 18. She has Stage 2 Type B and has completed all her treatments which have gone very well. Her pet scans are currently clean.
As I am certain that you are now. We were all completely blind sided and frightened. They have wonderful treatment and are very successful with it. Hang in there.
