Neighbor hates my chickens- will she do them harm?

fact. Most people are more afraid of a goose than of a dog.
But you don't want to do anything to inflame the situation further.

Can't wait for that fence.

I have geese, and people are both terrified of them, and think they are beautiful. My geese are great watch dogs, anything gets in the yard and they make enough noise to raise the dead.

I hope the fence is up soon. Hope the conflict ends when the fence is up.

I have a feeling this isn't going to stop Crazy Lady. If it were me, I'd make sure the game cam was up to "guard" the fence as I wouldn't be surprised if she tried to create a viewing spot in the fence. That's why I thought the tin was an awesome idea. Of course, you can grow shrubs along the fence as well to help with additional noisy and nosy neighbor issues.

I also would be worried the crazy lady would tear down a section of fence, or drill holes in the boards or something. When the fence starts going up, but the game cam or any camera on it to have proof of who is vandalizing it, if she does do something like that.

Forgot to add that the shrubs are both a good and bad idea. Good for the reasons stated above, but bad in that if they are planted too close to the fence that can provide cover for crazy lady to damage the fence. If the shrubs idea appeals to you, I'd plant them maybe a foot from the fence and plant those thorny roses you already have, as an additional barrier against crazy lady. Planting them a foot from the fence allows you to easily check the fence for damages, and planting bushes with thorns is another barrier to help safe guard your chickens.

I looked this morning and discovered that three sections of fence had been taken down. Then Crazy Lady put up stakes a couple inches behind her fences posts. Maybe the stakes are to show the inches she owns on the other side of her fence? Can't figure out the purpose of the blue reflector Crazy lady put up.....? (See pix below...) Funny was that even though they took the fence down the ridiculous amount of rose bushes that DH jammed in there did not fall down! They are a giant, solid square of brush. I moved the game cam. It is now in a clearly visible location...but pointed onto my property. She will clearly see that I am watching now! No worries...it's attached with a cable lock to the tree.

I wonder if she plans to take down her entire fence so that she can watch us put up our fence and make sure that we don't stray one inch over the perceived property line? Oh boy....

Spoke to the fence guy this AM. Fence will be in Thursday...then they need a couple of days to treat it with Thompson's water seal. So I hope, I hope...our fence is going up next week. I wish it could go up right now, but....bummer.

:) Maybe geese at some point...just have to get through this...the goat area is ready. That's next! And so far....no one from the town has complained about Spock...best news of all!

Spock says....I'm glad I'm still here!

How much can a person take before one meets fire with fire? I would say this is a great testament to the OP's patience so far. Bravo OP. I will continue to follow, as I have from day one.

Unbelievable... Crazy Lady has now started taking down her fence! Enough room to give her access to my chickens again. They were apparently unable to remove the rosebushes that DH jammed in there. Last week I did hire someone to put up my fence. The fence has been ordered and I hope, hope, hope he will be starting to put it up later this week. Once complete the chickens will be protected with a 6 foot wood fence in addition to their 6 foot welded wire fence. I do like the sound of that metal fence though!

DH just went down and blocked off the end of the fence with just wire this time so again she can't get to my chickens. Too dark to do much else. She really seems to be going off the deep end. I really hope my fence goes up soon. Last night she was standing at the very end of her fence line...where she left open space.... just staring at my horse pasture. My dogs barked like crazy and she scurried away. I knew that she wouldn't be able to take not watching me. It must be driving her crazier than she already is!
Ok This is actually making me kinda scared, who in the world does this?!

You should make a creepypasta or something and send it to her :D

I've read this hole thread I never herd or seen a person as crazy as her the most crazy I seen was are nieghbore that would stand in her driveway and flip peopol off that drove by

We had a crazy neighbor, like that, when we last lived in a suburban city. She and I had been friends, until she divorced her husband, and I remained friends with him. I never slighted her, and tried to remain friends, staying neutral. But, she was psycho.
In the end, she spent so much money, trying to make our lives as miserable as she could, within the law, she literally mortgaged her house, to the hilt, doing un-permitted improvements, room additions, property line surveys, to prove that my plants were 3" over onto her property, etc. Then, the real estate bust of 2007-08 hit, and she not only went bankrupt, and lost her house, but, she got caught using the power of her job, and sensitive confidential information, which she was privy to, to harass me (she was a secretary for the local prosecutor's office, in a VERY populated county), and lost her job, to boot.
In all, to only thing I ever did to her, was reported her known criminal use of that confidential information, to the D.A. Internal Affairs Investigators, and let my wife paint our fence, as it faced her front door, bright orange and bright purple.
Another friend, in a situation similar to yours, put a hog pen, as close to the crazy neighbor's house as he could. It resolved the issue.
Point being, with crazy neighbors, sometimes just pushing the issue, like your Roo, making more noise, every time she tried to annoy you, will force the other to give up, and other times, they get so crazy, they try irrational behavior, that does more harm to themselves, than to you. Just do what you know you can legally do, keep an eye out, for her doing anything illegal, and it will likely work itself out, to your satisfaction.
