Neighbor mad about rooster...suggestions?

Pics
THIS is crazy.

who would EVER move to an area with dogs barking, cows mooing, and chickens squawking and expect it to be QUIET?! i think he's a BASS and needs to shut up. i understand working all night and getting sleep during the day, i do almost the same. but i don't complain when my neighbor's rooster crows, or their dog barks. it's not like the neighbor is the one crowing. sure, they can fix it, but why would they? in fact, it's only one neighbor who's pets do this. BUT DO I WRITE A FLEEPING ANGRY LETTER?! NO! this guy is probably doing the same to the other neighbors, and he needs to stop! if i were you, i'd set up cameras all over, and make sure he does NOT go near your chickens. if you give in to a bully, he'll just bully more.

I was going to ask the same. I would NOT have done that. That is THEIR fault that they chose to plant it there and no OP’s problem. Of course too late now since it’s already been cut but yeah… I fear OP has been too considerate and accommodating and now this guy is taking advantage and bullying.
I was always told that if you give into a bully once, you will give into them everytime. Luckily my neighbors from NY get a kick out of my two Roosters. They tell their Family back home they live in the country now and let them hear them over their phones. Bad neighbors make things really difficult. If you aren't breaking any housing or zoning codes or rules I would tell him too go pound sand. Install security cameras though!!! Neighbors like that may kill your chickens in anger.

Thank you all so much for your kind words and help. If the neighbor was "neighborly" in any way and actually talked to us we would probably not be in this situation. I gave the wife eggs once but she did not seem to really care about them so I never offered again. Their house is set back about the same amount as ours and the coop is circled. We have it in the back corner. I can not put it in the other corner as we have a gate there for access and I do not want to put the coop in the center of the yard as there is no shade in the south Florida hot summers. I have been listening all morning and have heard him crow maybe 6x. The other roosters we rehomed before they started crow except for the second to last and this rooster is so quiet compared to him! He is so gorgeous! Don't get rid of him, he's a keeper! My suggestion is to give him a pair of earplugs. I worked nights for a long time and these allowed me to sleep.

Well sorry but my first thought when looking at this was OH they need Ducks too!! Our ducks are far more noisy than our chickens and we have 14 ducks and 120 chickens and way more roos' than I even wish to admit to. I have checked with our only neighbor both before we got them and since just to make sure I didn't need to do anything in the intrest of neighborly cooperation. I did move in here after she was well established. But I had no requirement and she is a good neighbor posts like theese make me all the more appreciative of her probably time to take her some more eggs. She won't come ask even though I told her they would always be free to her. She does on occaision when she needs and doesn't want to run to town but she always sends money for them. As for neighbors on the other property lines well they are asses but as oong as they stay on their side of the fence I won't say anything no matter how much they annoy me.

I would not want my chickens that close to his lot line. Id be looking at relocating, but that is the best spot for the coop so tough situation. There is a lot of shade on the rear lot line and other side.

Some laws in other states have setback requirements and your coop is on a fairly close lot line, so you do have more accomodations you can do by moving the coop to the other side. Is the gate a place where they wouldnt be as safe or is your rear lot line a safe place to move them?
I've had 3 rooster and they only crow when alarmed so they have been or they quiet.

If you can move the coop away from the neighbor as far as possible I suggest this and let the neighbor know of this. Also allow this will be the last concession.
