Neighborly Yard Etiquette

Yep, I can understand the neighbors. Our neighbor next door hasn't figured out that grass grows, and that the brand new lawnmower he has sitting in the driveway (halfway covered up) cuts it. One day, I'll have to explain to him that the BUSHES that are over 10 feet tall on either side of his driveway have to be trimmed a few times each year, so his neighbors on each side can see to pull out of their driveways.

Mmmm . . . free clippings for the compost pile . . . I never seem to have enough. Wanna trade neighbors? Mine is neat and tidy, and won't share her clippings. Her compost heap is lovely and putting mine to shame.

Ok let me put it this way..... another angle per se.... I had a neighbour who allowed her dogs to continually poop on my grass verges and come into my garden to do their business... I tolerated this for a very very very very long time..... until one day I missed a load of poop and my son (then young) fell in it!. I was very very very upset as she also never wormed her dogs etc etc.......... so despite asking her to not let her dogs loose to poopie everywhere, she ignored it... right said I to myself... time for action! everytime her dogs poopied anywhere on the property I picked it up (on a shovel of course)... and placed it in the middle of the entrance to her driveway.... boy did that poopie stink.... she left it there for weeks.......so I then left it on her grass verges and SHE had to mow over it (instead of me mowing over it on mine!) .. she got the message in the end..... let you dogs poop and PICK IT UP! ... same rules applies to you... DON'T FEEL GUILTY........ now feel better...

Do you think maybe they were scared to come onto your property? I mean since they were new to the neighborhood? I personally would have cleaned it up anyway.

I'm sure glad I live in the country and have fields as neighbors who can't complain if my yard clippings get in their yard, I'm sure they probably have leaves that fall in your yard too that shouldn't!! Geez!

Nothing like saying WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!! Now keep your Clippings on your SIDE!

He also said they are putting up a fence too so maybe that will help in the future..

Lucky they have no trees come fall

I would let it go this time. If it keeps happening, send them a bill letting them know what your dumping fee is. Thankfully, I live in the country. The only place our mower shoots lawn clippings is on our own property
