An animal that has been abandoned and turned so called ferel can be tamed down fairly easy in the begenning so you could try it , A TRUE feral can on the other hand take huge ammounts of time to tame down and its only a 50/50 shot , I use to work at McDonalds and they had ferel cats people dumped kittens in the bushes and off the free way ect. Well I caught the 9 of them in live traps took them and got them spayed and vaccinated with the help of some cat rescue people 7 got homes on someones fenced property as barn cats with there own area for sleeping and feeding station one little kitten probly less then 3 months old I gave to my mom, even at that age he was feral and it took her 6 months to be able to hold him he still is nervous around anyone but her but she loves him just the same. 2 got released back at where I worked and I set up a feeding station for them.
If It were me I would work on him to see if I could get him to come around and or trap him and find him a home or keep him but thats just me , I dont like being someone who sees that something is wrong but decideing its not my repsonsblity to fix it as this is one big reason in my opinon that the world has becoem teh way that it is .
Good luck
