Neighbors dog

I don't know. It's only my opinion but I see it like this. She does owe for your loss. It seems the only way for your dog and her dog to get to each others property is under her trailer. She doesn't want to pay out and one could sue or let it go for the sake of keeping some sort of neighborly relations I'd just fix/fence the bottom of trailer so neither dog can go back and forth. Done deal. Harmony of living is priceless and you don't have to confine your dog, which you don't want to leash but would have to if continuing your current path of action. It'll be tit for tat and frayed relations which seem to be the case now as you text her instead of knocking on the door and having a talk with her. But that's just me. I don't have to like my neighbors but do keep in mind I will continue to live by them.

She wasn't home when from I t happened and when she came home, before things escalated to beyond me just texting and telling her what her dog did, I went outside to talk to her and she went in her house rather than meet me at the property line to talk...

I have talked to her about fixing the vinyl before but she said its over $700 to replace and can't afford it... It was messed up before we moved in to our house and before her parents bought her house. It would make things much easier if she would fix it but I'm definitely not paying for it! Regardless of my dogs having gone under there in the past, they did not cause the damage, merely took advantage of it to get underneath. she kept them locked in the smaller 8ft chain link run she has while she was gone today but when she came home she let them back out and there's absolutely nothing to keep them from going back out and killing more birds.

The Animal Control Officer has a boss or supervisor. Talk to him/her. They are paid by the tax payers money. The job title says all. Animal Control means just that. They were hired to maintain controlof animals in the community. AND to protect citizens from other community members animals.

I already told my neighbor she better watch her cat. Thankfully the neighbor dogs don't have access to my coop (6ft privacy fence in front, sides and back 4ft), if they did though I'd be mad.

My husband has shot several cats and one dog for killing chickens the only ones to survive have been our dogs. In texas you have the right.
C however i must say that it makes for poor neighbors it well know in this area there is no animal control and thatif any animal attacks livestock it will get one warning to the owners then be killed the second time. We have cattle and chickens so yeah.

My mother in law suggested we put up a two strand electric fence around our backyard for our dogs to go out in and said that she thought it would keep the chickens in if I clipped their wings... Idk though... I don't think two strands could make a solid AND tall enough fence to keep the chickens from going through and over. Anyone have any experience with electric fencing in chickens? Would be awesome if I could let them back out of their run. It's only 5x5 for two hens and my Cochin has stopped laying since she's been closed in. =[

No that wont stop your hens we have a almost five foot tall fence with electic wire across the top it doesnt stop our determind hens. The only thin that has worked so far is reinforcing the fence and keeping both secondarys and primary feathers clipped hard on all of them.
