Oh no definitely not calling them again, ever. And if dog shows up here again (I have not seen him at all since - not running around by their house, not out in the field, nowhere - but their house is nearly 1/4 mi down the road), I'm sure i can take him someplace where he will find a better home. They have a great no-kill shelter in town and my vet also has some connections. She even keeps some until they can be placed in 'special situations'.
And yeah, the neighbors are older people now, but they raised eight kids and they have I forget how many grandkids and a couple of greats now and it does make you wonder what life in their house was like. Feel so badly I didn't do more at the time, but I had literally had some surgery that day and was swathed in bandages and not moving very fast and was just sitting outside in a chair when he pulled up.
