If you have such kind of neighbors, go to the library and read about Psittacosis and similar common diseases in wildlife. Thus if something suspicious unfortunately appear in your flock or in your neighborhood and you discretely train yourself about that, you will be able to spot for common symptoms and take early measures.
A dozen eggs is a small price for having peace. Much better than four
(I'm realizing now that they could in turn use them in their own lab test, maybe after contaminate them accidentally, and mess things. Maybe would be better to offer some fruit instead at this point?).
