I suppose I should be grateful that they are at least laying in the coop and not somewhere out in the yard - and at least there isn't much poop under the poop boardCan relate to the most inconvenient spot under the poop board![]()

What a great idea! I actually have a dresser that I have been trying to think of a way to do something else with. It's an old, solid wood, super long one. And very bulky. Too bulky for my room lol. MaybeUpcycled worlds ugliest armoire' Things I've learned over the years: they don't like sun shining in thier faces so I moved from a wall that was getting southern facing sun to opposite; I keep a supply of alfalfa just in front of the box because they enjoy pulling it to hide behind; inside set up for dryness, privacy; made sure roosts are higher than boxes so they don't want to sleep in them. Sorry no experience with Bantams. Good luck, I love upcycling and creativity so I hope you post pics!

LOL true. But my poor 6’ boyfriend trying to get under the poop board is hilariousI suppose I should be grateful that they are at least laying in the coop and not somewhere out in the yard - and at least there isn't much poop under the poop board![]()
My bantam, pixie, is laying under my porch. Waaaay back in the darkest, hardest corner to reach. She goes back and forth from the big nesting boxes to that corner about daily, like she's thinking "eh,maybe I won't make mom work for it today." Nope. Every. Single. Day. That she lays. LolCan relate to the most inconvenient spot under the poop board![]()

Absolutely!@aart idea keeps nesting material in so much better than square with a lip, IMHO.
My only EE found a spot in the woods on a slope to lay. She would sprint there as soon as the door opened. My bantam, pixie, is laying under my porch. I use rubber buckets that have holes, so they can't hold water for the horses, for the Cornish bantams. Perf
That sounds like it would work better for her. I have about three of these small plastic trash cans that haven't been used, just sitting around. I've considered using them for her. She seems to like tiny spaces. Where she can dig a nest down so far that you can only see her head and pointy tail tips sticking out. I absolutely love your coop. I desperately need a walk in coop. Lol. It would make life much easier. My husband and I are slowly making plans for a chicken castleThe nests in Neuchickenstein are mounted on the inside but accessible from the outside. Since this is a hugely-oversized coop that works without being inconvenient.
They're also VERY well ventilated, since they're located on the west(ish) wall.
