nest box dimensions

hi all...if my hubby builds a nest box for a standard size chicken...a banty will use it also right?
also...what is a good size (length x width x height)...i was just going to buy some easy to clean ones but he wants to make it he thinks...pics would b good too so he has some ideas...thnx 4 the info
 
Yes, a bantam will use a standard sized nest box. For a full sized chicken, I think 12" x 12" x 12" is a good size as a minimum. The 12" height gives plenty of room for nesting material. Just be sure to have a lip at the bottom to hold the nesting material in.
