I was using care fresh bedding but it's pricey so I started just filling them with pine shavings and hay. Recently I was gifted a sack of orchard hay and swapped out a fist full of that on top of pine shavings. Not only does it smell amazing but unlike most changes my girls loved it. I catch them munching on it while doing their laying biz.

Think it would be worth buying when I run out? What do you use? :pop

I use these nesting pads. I really like them. I got them after my girls kept kicking out the shavings. My girls can still scratch them around and shape them, but nothing falls out. I haven't had to change any out yet (though I did when I did spring cleaning!). It's just another option.

These are VERY cool! I've never seen those before! I don't really have to clean my boxes either; I just did recently as part of spring cleaning/preventative maintenance. Actually, mine are such good girls that they hardly even poop off the roost overnight

Makes for some really glorious morning poos just outside the run, though :gig:yesss:
