I knew the rule is 4-5 per box, but look at it as how nesters can I fit in this space. I have 9 buckets for 19 pullets but only 9 are laying. One box is more popular than the others, but the girls will either wait or use a different one. Very few lay at the same time.
I have six nestboxes for eight hens... Doesn’t matter how big or where they are located, everybody wants to park their fannies in the saaaaaaame spot at the saaaaaaaaaaaaame time! And when they can’t, ohhhhh the complaining they will do!
