I haven't had cable for years. Could not be happier. No constant barrage of advertisements for one thing. Flat, easy to pay price for Netflix, and great selection. No reruns. But, as they become more of a sole provider for entertainment, I predict they will keep bumping their prices up. That is just generally what happens with lowered competition. At that point, I'll probably skip on Netflix too, and rely on film festivals, DVD/VHS swaps, and indie theaters to see any groundbreaking movies of past and present.
