I have 19 ducks of various breeds that are about 3 months old. They were happy in their pen and playing in their pool constantly as well as eating everything in sight. We recently did some building of chicken coops near their pen and now they refuse to come out of the duck house unless we run them out and on top of that they won't eat out of their food pans or drink out of their water pans. Their pen was quite wet from rain, but is now drying up and they are still refusing clean water in their pool and dishes. They are working on their fourth day of this and I don't know how to get them to get into the water. They are looking pretty dirty and unkempt.
They will eat if I throw food on the ground right near them, but still won't drink from the pan I put near them. I'm out of ideas. Anyone with any advice? I would love to hear from you. I've never seen anything quite like this. I'm in Texas and it is getting pretty warm for them to go without water.
