I just saw on the News that Wolf Pack Meats is not shutting down, they are looking into how to expand. I have purchased meat from them, they also sell their meats to local butchers. Murray will sell small purchases if you ask Jason. He is a nice guy. Their honey is yummy!
Now to figure out the dairy cow situation... Would love to cow share!

My chicks are being shipped today! I am a nervous wreck, I hope they are all going to be ok. They should be here Monday! Praying the PO doesn't screw up! We are ready, well

Great news everyone!!! I was walking towards my grandmas house this afternoon, and my girl came running up to me to get picked up!! She was a couple houses down in some bushes! I cant believe my luck, I thought I'd never see her agian!. Its been four days since I last saw her. Shes really hungry and thirsty, and dirty, and shes got that sick cold look with her feathers, but I warmed her up and fed her. Im sure she's going to be fine. Im so glad I havent gotten rid of my roo yet!! I'm going to finish the coop tomorrow, and then there's no way I'll loose her agian.
The pen she was in has a hinge roof, and it flipped up in the wind. I forgot to tell you guys, but I also bought a latch for that so it wont happen agian either. Im so happy. :]
Meralee, welcome to BYC!!! Im in Lemmon Valley too. ;]
Seth, thats not quiet a record, I think we got three in a week over last summer once.

That's amazing! She's a wonder chicken!

The chickens are spending their first night in the new coop. Poor girls don't know what to make of it. I went to check on them...36 feet of roosting perches, 5 extra large straw-filled nesting boxes, and they're on the ground in the mini-run, all huddled together. They won't freeze because I covered it with clear plastic to turn it into an air-warming chamber during the cold months.

Tomorrow I'll probably find eggs on the ground, even though a couple of them checked out the nesting boxes. Or no eggs at all from stress. They think they have it bad now... wait until they find out they're going to be sharing their new house with 6 new girls tomorrow.

I'd have pictures to show, but I can't find the cord to attach my phone to the computer. My husband was the last to handle it, and I don't want to make an international call just to ask where the cord is.
