Hello everyone! I'm sorry to hear all the things that are going awry, as far as personal and animal health goes. I wish everyone speedy recoveries!
Missy, I hope you're hanging in okay, we are definitely pulling for you, your birds, and your family at our house. Your ducklings are irresistibly adorable... I think someday we will have to get some. AND, thanks for the gardening advice, I'm following along, so hopefully we can have some homegrown veggies this summer. It is the first time for us to have a garden at our house, and I really don't know what I'm doing.
I'm excited for this Farmer's market to come together! I can't make to it the potluck this weekend, we just have so much going on. I'm in the writing stage of my thesis so I can graduate in May. I would love to come buy your produce and goods this summer, though!
Seth, are you going to be showing your rabbits at the show? Hope it goes well! It's good to hear you enjoyed your trip to Mexico and got a lot accomplished.
Congrats on the bees, Ron! I love bees! Someone was telling us we need to get some, and honestly I love bees, but I actually can't eat honey. I have some kind of aversion to it, it just makes me feel "off" when I consume it, so I'm not sure if bees are for me. Although, as a biologist, I'm in love with bees and think your endeavor is awesome! Have you ever kept bees before or is it a first time project?
Our chicken family is doing really well. We moved our littlest chicks to a portioned off area in our coop weekend before last, and allowed them to integrate with the older chicks this week. The bigger chicks weren't really thrilled with the newbies at first, but they've been doing better and better each day. Our littler chicks, we got from Green's Feed Chick day, are so sweet and cuddly. I held two of them for a long time yesterday and they just loved being cuddled. They crawled right into my lap, it was a good end to a long day!
