Seth, I agree with Candy and Sunny. It's probably just a dry gullet. Watch her to see how she does. But I put two things in the water: Sulmet and Duramycin. I bought the Sulmet last summer, when my chickens got cocci, so I just had it around. And I was glad I did, since it treats coryza. The Duramycin treats other stuff, but it's a more broad-spectrum antibiotic that can be used for a lot of animals. You can get them at feed stores for pretty cheap, and they're good to have around. When the chickens got cocci, I called a friend to have her run go get me some, because I heard it can kill fast if untreated. Sulmet is a liquid, in a white bottle with a blue label. I got it at Green's Feed. Duramycin is a yellow powder, and I got it at Feed World, but they probably have it at Green's, as well.

Do you have any plain yogurt? It really helped my chickens build their immunity back up after being sick. I milled some Flock Raiser, flaxseed meal, and rolled oats together, then mixed it into a mash with yogurt. They loved it. I've been making big batches of yogurt so I can keep in onhand for them.

Sunny, I also have two big dog crates. They're currently occupied, but the ducks leave it to go run around the yard during the day. I can find someplace to put the chicks, if you want to use them both.

And the lesson learned today... If you're holding ducklings in your lap and eating a Hostess Zinger, don't expect that nothing will happen. But they tasted the sugar and didn't want much more.

I think I'll be ok with what Aubrey has, combined with what I already have. I can move a whole lot more birds than I think we will have room for with all these carriers and crates! I have quite a bit of stuff here amassed from over the years too. Rabbit cages, dog crates, hutches and dog houses. What I would love to find is a dog kennel that I can set up at the new place and just set some wood panels on top to put them into til we get the coops over and unloaded. I found some fence panels online that might work too. By that time we should be golden!

Well even though I don't have bunnys anymore the cages have come in handy at times but I'll let you know if I decide to get rid of them.

Good morning everybody! IDK why my brain always has Grover's voice in there when I say good morning. I even started to draw out the everybodeeeeeey. It's probably from the book "There's a Monster at the End of This Book" which my youngest DS made me read over and over for him in Grover's voice. I'm tellin ya that is a quick way to get a sore throat!

Anyway this thread was so quiet this morning I thought I'd pop in and say "Hi!"

Here's a couple of useless one liners to start your Tuesday off with...

well good'n morning to you too Lady! Grover voices are my fave, Markie loves to do them haha. I am up early today doing a full house clean then off to work for the close. I dont know why im bothering, really...its such A NICE DAY! Our roomie has been touring the west coast with a band from seattle and theyre coming into town this afternoon and staying here for a couple of days so i get to play hostess with the mostest. Im pretty certain a punk rock band couldnt care less if the house were clean or not, but sheesh....I get soooooo retentive about these things. anywhooo...hope everyone has a FABULOUS day.
Btw Elizabeth we have named the nebie "Lady" and she is doing well already! Shes a very sweet bird and has made friends with the young olive eggers and even likes to hang around Gregory Peck and the babies. She will be alright I think

Busy busy busy and not seeing as much accomplished as I was hoping. I can barely get time to catch up on threads.

Sunny I'm sorry you have to move too soon after all the work you've done, but envious that you'll hopefully have more space. I have a whoppinh 700sq ft here. I know people with bigger apartments. Sooooooo once I find a place, I hope you direct all your helpers out here.

Trying to figure out how I'll move when it's time and since I have no idea where I'll be going that makes it harder to figure out.

I have small is cages, double sided transport cages and a couple of dog crates if you happen to be this way before you move. You can bring them back when I need to move

I have chicks I need to put on CL, but no time to do it right now. Gonna check the CA thread and see if I need to update anything and then I'm off like a prom dress.

LOL! Nice to know I'm not the only one out there using a Grover voice! Well I'm sure Markie does a better Grover than I since Grover is a boy. I think I'll have Markie record that book onto a CD for me then give it to my DS for his birthday!!! Heehee that would be a perfect gift!

Yep, I was gonna say the same thing Elizabeth just said. haha Gotta become a Renoite for the same helpers. Good luck selling your chicks. I am selling some of mine too before the move. Gotta lighten the load a little and I was getting carried away anyway. Need to build another couple of coops at the new place in addition to these two. Not sure what we'll do with all that room at the new house but I'm sure we'll figure something out!

Post pics of the prom dress if you get a chance! I need to work on my youngest GDs quilt but don't know when I'll have time.
