Uh-oh. That means mine aren't far behind. Time to make some dinner.

Hahahaha, That is what roosters do Seth

You need to buy pullets if you don't want the crowing. Hope the sales go through for you

Still too early to tell what is growing in my Bantam Buff Brahma eggs. I did see veining in the 4 bantam Polish eggs from my chickens that I set with them. They are almost white so easier to see into. I'll keep you posted on their progress

Missy, Thought you would like to know that your adult hen wasn't sick. A few days ago I put my 3 young buff Ameraucana pullets in with the big girls. Well, one of them hid in the chicken house all day. I decided to put them back in with my Polish for the night and one of them was making this horrible noise that sounded just like what you described as sounding like a baby crying! It was so upsetting to hear

It turns out that it was the one that hid in the house and didn't get water all day! So it must be from a dry crop! The next morning she was just fine, thank-goodness because it really freaked me out!!

She also had so much snot that it dripped from her beak, and had bubbles in her eyes. The poor thing was miserable!

Candy, would you mind identifying some roos for me? I have a few that I know are pullets, but if the roos are about to crow then I need to process them soon. Also, the little ones are a week from being ready to go outside, and I can put them all together if the roos are gone. The ameraucanas aren't big enough for the open yard, so they're going to have to share the little coop. But I'm still not sure on some of them, and don't want to butcher any pullets. I can take individual pictures after church today, and PM them to you.

Shoot, I thought I had good news for you on your hen. I didn't realize she was also congested

You can post pictures and I will try to identify the roosters (front and side shots of the heads and tails) but I would wait on your roosters until they crow. There isn't going to be enough meat on your Ameraucana roosters to make them worth eating at this age. Seth's roosters are early crowers. My older boys aren't crowing yet.

well they aren't crowing they are just trying

good for you aubry! while i went to turn in my blue showgirl roo and came home with one of sunny's white created black polish now named dixie and traded my roo for a white columbian showgirl that looks just like petty (95% girl

)

Yes i know i am smiling the It who wanted them sounded like they really didn't want them and sounded like a creeper.

Seth, I'm sorry the deal fell through. You have put so much time and love into these guys that I know you want them to get a chance at a good home

Keep trying, they are beautiful boys and someone will want them

Put ads up at your local feed stores with pictures if you can. I have had the best luck finding homes for my chickens that way. Say that they are from top of the line, private breeders lines from Paul Smith and Jean Ribbeck (Pips&Peeps) and that they have show potential. Good luck!
