Nevadans?

I'm in the process of trying to secure a venue to teach home canning, since a lot of people have asked to learn and my kitchen is WAY too small! Is anyone on here interested? If so, communication will probably extend into PMs, since the location will most likely either be at my church or at the home of a fellow church member. But anyone is welcome to attend... you'll be my guest!

That sounds absolutely GREAT! Wish I had the gas money to come and learn.

Hi folks! I am in Washington State and a large group of us from WildWest Serama club from California to Washington have planned a serama table top show at the NNPFA Fall poultry show Nov. 17th at the Reno livestock event center. We are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay and also a place we can leave our birds a day or two if needed. We can coop in friday and not sure on coop out. I believe it will be Saturday and most of us will stay until Sunday and need safe place for our birds. Anyone there have seramas they may like to show? Any info on a motel or place to coop the birds would be awesome and much appreciated. Please let me know. thanks! Anna Ballard [email protected]

We hatched quite a few this year hopefully we have some good ones... coop out is Sat evening.... not sure about housing your birds but I will check around. Look forward to watching a live Table Top Show!!!!!!

That's great having people from Washington State come to the show in November. I can see what we can do for you guys at the Casino I work at right now before I leave there, we usually have special rates during the winter and it won't surprise me if I can get you one of those. I'm not sure about the birds though but I'll ask on Tuesday when I go back to work. How many rooms are you talking about?

Ron, I'm going to the Grand Sierra as a Casino Host. I'll be on day shift only. I won't know what my days off are going to be until I get closer to the day I start working there. I'll also be doing what I love the most, my dream job of Special Events and virtual drawings. I'm really looking forward to this.

Tyler, I wish u didn't want to leave NV, come to Reno we are friendly HERE! I wish I had room for u to stay. I do need a bird sitter in Sept (7, 8, 9) if u want to get away?

If I didn't have my 4-H club's rabbit show that weekend I would of totally would have. But I'm going to be at the show all day Friday (spending the night :) too) and all day Saturday. Sorry. You always pick the worst times. What day is the poultry show at fair this year?

I love Grand Sierra. You guess are where we are having the biggest show on the west coast for the next 2 years and the past 2 years.

I know! I remember the rabbit show there just a bit ago. I have a lot of friends there too and I missed them very much. It's like going home but the home is a new one. I can't imagine working there because how big it is. That place is huge.

I gotta get to bed now, 6am is going to kill me. So far I've cut up 56 cups of pickling cucumbers and only 4 of the 7 onions and none of the bell peppers to make my pickles tomorrow. Missy's coming over with her kids too. I'm really excited having them to help. This is the first time having friends over to help me with my canning but I have tons of pickles to make. Everyone ate up my pickles from last year except for 1 jar I hid from everyone and I opened that today. It takes at least 10 days for the pickles to cure to get the best taste from them, by 4 weeks though they are perfect for hamburgers, hot dogs or anything you want. We love pull pork with ours.

G'nite!
